Wow having babies is wonderful but it does a number on your body. At least for me anyways. I think its all genetics. I was not one of those people that just needed to breast feed to loose weight I actually kept the weight on breast feeding.
I have not bought new clothes for myself for so long I am so picky and never find anything I like and besides I don't want to go shopping because I am not happy with my body.
When I got pregnant with my first baby I was 5' 7" and only 114 pounds I was tiny and loved it. I gained so much weight I was 169 the day I had him. It took me almost 3 years to lose most of the weight then I got pregnant again. I ate better this time but gained even more weight I was over 180 when I had my baby Kai.
It has been over 7 months and now I am on a mission to get my old body back and be a HOT mamma. Calorie counting is really working I don't have the time to officially calorie count but you can kind of measure how much you can eat and not eat. I have found that eating a big breakfast makes me so much hungrier during the day now I just have a Nutri grain bar for breakfast, small lunch, small snack, small dinner, and a low calorie popsicle for dessert. Of course throw in about 2-3 coffees with a little bit of sugar and fat free milk in the mix.
Anyways it seems to be working I lost 3 pounds last week. I am no where near where I want to be I have about 30 more pounds to go but I know I can do it. I need to throw a daily 15 minute workout and I will be well on my way.
What prompted my post today is because I had a wedding the other day I did the makeup but they are also great friends of ours. I was just torturing myself on what to where. I went to Nordstroms and a wonderful girl approached me in the Brass Plum area (such cute clothes right now) she just looked at me and took it upon herself to choose a bunch of different outfits for me. I went into the dressing room and had lots of cute stuff to try on. Long story short I spent $32o (I hope my hubby doesn't read this) I found such cute stuff that actually looked good on me. I felt great at the wedding and I could tell my husband loved it.
Stay positive, confident, and take care of yourself. When you look good it feeds you emotionally. Eat good stuff and make sure you spoil yourself often. Life on this earth is too short to feel bad about yourself. You have the control to be exactly where you want to be. Just thought I would share some of my story. I have a long way to go to be really happy with myself but I am definitely on the right path.

The instructor of course choose Madonna which I pretty much figured it would be Marilyn or Madonna. It was a good class and the artist did a great job. Of course he had a book of models to choose from and choose one that looked ALOT like Madonna. She was gorgeous. It is always fun to attend these classes I always learn something.

So I finally found someone that did a great job on my hair. It is costing me an arm and a leg but she needs to get it back to where it use to be. Then if I just maintain it it won't cost me so much each time.

My hair is not good it is course and dry it never really looks good in my opinion and I can't figure out how to style it. Oh and by the way my natural hair color is almost black (very dark brown) and I dye it blonde for my hubby.

I have been wanting to takes MAC's Bridal master class forever they only do it twice a year in OC. I went to sign up for Sunday's class and it was completely booked. An amazing well known MAC artist is flying in from Seattle to instruct the class. I was soooo bummed ruined my day. I couldn't help but be really really mad. I got to my car buckled my kid in his seat and the MAC girl called me. They had some openings I ran back in and signed up. I can't wait. I will let you all know how it goes. I always learn so much from these classes. Wooohooo!

Oh ya I have a wedding on bright and early Saturday morning with a really cool bride. It will be a fun weekend.

So just a little lecture. If you want beautiful skin you must wash your face every single night NO MATTER WHAT. If you don't the dirt and grime from the day will just sit and smudge into your skin through the night. The very few times I didn't drag myself to the bathroom and wash my face I regretted it BIG time in the morning. Guaranteed to have a few blemishes that were not there the day before. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Purity face wash from Philosophy it takes of eye makeup and the consistency is perfect. Love how it feels on my skin. Definitely cleans my skin. Something to remember is to rinse your face really good make sure to rinse all around your face. Some people just splash to rinse and leave extra face wash sitting around the edges of your face.

Another thing that I heard the other day that is great for your skin and is really working for me is to add blueberries (antioxidants) and Omega 3's to your diet. I just throw a handful of blueberries in my cereal every morning. WASH WASH WASH ;-)

I finally had the opportunity to work with Jack Randall Photography. He shot the last wedding I worked at. I get a lot of questions regarding airbrush makeup. It can look great on anyone. The main two things to keep in mind is smooth, moisturized skin, and quality product. I have used silicone based airbrush foundations and it felt cakey and silicone like on the skin. I personally like water-based airbrush makeup for weddings because it is blendable and very natural looking. Every artist has there own special technique. I prefer to use a oil free tinted moisturizer, concealer for under the eyes and to cover blemishes, then I spray a light mist of airbrush makeup over the skin to give it the flawless smooth coverage all brides want. I also contour with the airbrush by using darker and lighter foundation colors. I can't stress enough how important it is to exfoliate and moisturize your skin. The healthier your skin looks the better any makeup will look on you. Anyways I just wanted to give my 2 cents on the subject and let you know what works for me.

I know that planning a wedding can be very stressful especially when it comes to the budget. The cost to hire a professional makeup artist may seem like a lot, but I guarantee it will be worth the money. Whats the point of hiring an expensive photographer if you are not going to look good in the pictures. The cost of hiring a makeup artist comes from the cost of the makeup, travel for both trial and wedding, false lashes, and whatever the artist is spending on advertising. The cost may seem excessive but keep in mind this is many artists livelyhood and its not cheap to keep our kits filled. The artist should look out for you and can recommend tips on how to prepare for your big day. I recommend looking through magazines and getting an idea of what you want for your wedding makeup. This will help you decide on a makeup artist that will give you the look you want. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL YOU BRIDES TO BE!!!

MAC Face Sculpting and Contouring Class

I just went to the MAC Face contouring class it was very informative. Of course, the model was an actual model and beautiful. I was kinda hoping for an everyday women. Either way was a great class I learned a lot and of course spent more money than planned. I got some great stuff. I really like the Soft and Gentle Powder and the Sculpting Powders.

I have a wedding makeup starting at 7:30 am for about 8 women. I also have a wedding trial with another bride right after and then on my way home I am stopping to do an event makeup on my friend for a cocktail party. Oh ya, and I have to travel over an hour away. I will need to pace myself but I am excited!!! I love busy days like this. I just had to say so.

Why it is so important to hire a professional makeup artist for your wedding day?
First of all, this is going to be one of the best days of your life and you want to look your best. If your makeup isn't done just right the photos can make you look very washed out, on the other hand, you don't want to look like you have on war paint when you are saying your I do's. In 20 years when your future children are looking through your wedding album they're not going to be looking at your wedding cake or the flowers they are going to be looking at their parents 20 years younger. An experienced bridal makeup artist has extenstively studied makeup artistry to achieve just the right look for a bride. If you are going to be hiring a really expensive photographer it will definitely be worth hiring a quality makeup artist. Speaking for myself, if I spend a lot of money on a photographer I want to make sure I look good so I am proud to show off my beautiful wedding pics to everyone I know. I personally prefer airbrush makeup because it stays on your skin longer and it will give you a flawless, smooth, natural look.

Do your own makeup in 20 minutes or less

1. Exfoliate your skin with a gentle exfoliator Origins has a good one.

2. Apply Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer SPF 20, one of the best products I have every used. My color is nude. It is a moisturizer but it will even your skin tone and looks very natural. Feels great on your skin.

3. Becca's award winning concealer around your eyes, nose, chin, and to cover blemishes. Cool thing about this concealer is over 30 colors to match any skin tone and one side is extra coverage for blemishes the other side is a little less coverage to use around your eyes. The key to covering blemishes is to dab the concealer on your skin do not rub. Dab concealer with a clean finger tip until it warms up to your skin and the blemish disappears.

3. Set the concealer by using Becca's loose finishing powder, I have been told by people who are actually using this product that it seems to be water resistent. The powder literally melts on your skin. No powdery look just complete natural beauty.

4. Becca's cream blush can be applied before powder or after powder to get more color. Then use either Becca's pressed shimmer color in Princess, Hyawatha, or Nefertiti to give you that extra glow. Lorac's Desire Blush is also great.

5. Use Becca's Brow Powder and angled brush to color and shape your brows. I use Light but they also have Fair, Medium, Auburn, and Dark.

6. Cover your eyelid from lash line to brow with Lorac's Beige eyeshadow, cover your eyelid with Lorac's Enlighten eyeshadow. Take a eye pencil (brown or black) Teddy from Mac Cosmetics is my favorite make sure you sharpen it. Use the pencil to make a bunch of dots right in your lash line, kinda like pok-a-dots, use a thin brush or even your Becca angled brush to blend the dots together. If you really want yours eyes to pop use a light eyeshadow and brush in to your lower lash line. Rule of thumb is to use a dark liner on top of your eye and lighter color on bottom of your eye.

7. Grab your Shuemura eyelash curler and your favorite mascara. Best way to apply mascara is to use the end of the wand where all the product has gathered and run it over your lashes. Then take the mascara wand and get right up to your lash line and brush mascara through your lashes.

8. Last but not least grab your favorite gloss (Becca's is awesome) and your done. If you like to use lip liner with your gloss I recommend Lorac's #06.

I hope this can help someone. It should only take you about 10-15 minutes.
